More Details
You are invited to take part in a research project about the conditions under which visual perceptual confusion occurs and the project also investigates individual differences. The study is being conducted by Au Hoi Ting and will contribute to the Honours Project in Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at James Cook University.
Participants will complete an angle-matching task by making discriminations between degrees and lengths of angles when the differences are very small. Two questionnaires will also be administered to collect some information regarding individual differences. This involves indicating the intensity of your agreement with the applicability of several statements. The entire process is estimated to take 40 minutes. This research will be conducted at a research laboratory at James Cook University, Singapore Campus.
Taking part in this study is completely voluntary and you can stop taking part in the study at any time without explanation or prejudice. You may also withdraw any unprocessed data from the study.
There are no physical risks associated with completing the experimental task and questionnaires, but some people may find the study a little distressing. If you do feel upset or distressed in any way, please advise the researcher and you will be referred to someone who can help you.
Your responses and contact details will be strictly confidential. The data from the study will be used in a thesis submission to James Cook University. You will not be identified in any way in this research report.
